I have four butter nut squash in our garden and we are planning to paint them and make them look like minions (from Despicable Me) for the Halloween. I don't know how it is going to turn out but let us see.
For the meantime, bumble bees love the flowers of the squash. They stayed in there the whole day and I am guessing that they also sleep inside the flower always see them inside buzzing around.
These would be fun to decorate with. I am not sure when to pick them but I am just going to leave them in the stem until they are old enough.

not quite ready yet, but i'm sure it will be before the Halloween, my butternut squash didn't grow this year, i have a very damp area and we need to cut more trees to have more sunlight in my garden.

Such a cute idea!! Hey have you cooked with the squash blossoms? I seen on cooking channel they made them stuffed with ricotta and something I forget now. First thing I thought of though when I seen them :)

Oh how I miss my own garden, mommy Rose. I miss picking some fresh veggies and preparing dishes that are fresh from the garden. I am sure it will turn out cute. :) I love butternut squash. It is one of our fave. :)
