Dried Rose from Texas

This is the  rose that a friend of mine gave me on my 40th birthday.  I put it in the  refrigerator at the hotel while we were there in Texas and  I brought it home when we came back from our vacation.  I removed it from the stem and  now serve as one of my display in our bedroom.  I actually plucked some petals from it and  put it in the card that I gave to my husband during Father's Day, he loved it!

I wanted to preserve the thoughtfulness so I air dried it.  Isn't it pretty?  So there  goes my rose from Texas.

With us in a very dry summer the roses are grown on the bush in the garden so - it was bizarre and beautiful again -

I love your rose story! I think I will dry some roses I received this week. They are in memory of my childhood friend who passed away last week.
