Getting Longer and Bigger

After I shoveled the snow at our drive way this morning, I decided to removed some of the icicles that are getting so long because I am worried that it will damage the gutter of our house. These photos were taken the day after the first snow storm and they got bigger and longer.
I hope that this will end soon. I feel bad for those who got hit hard and lost their electric. Imagine how agonizing is that especially if you have little kids.
How is the weather at your side of the world?

Snow so Deep

I have never seen snow this deep since I was very little. I was told by my neighbor that it was worse in 1997 when a blizzard hit the area, but I was basking in the sun in Guam in 1997 and missed all of the fun. It took me about 2 hours to shovel the front walk, driveway, stairs, front porch, back porch, and the patio. This snow was wet and heavy and after moving about 5 tons of it, my back is sore.

My daughter (aka my little helper) always wants to help me whenever I shovel the snow. She loves playing in the snow too. We were going to make an igloo today but the temperature outside is around 10 degrees f. Once it warms a little, we will begin our project. She had a lot of fun playing with Champ.
It's always a treat to see our dog jump into the snow and completely disappear. Being a Jack Russell, he is good at digging and tunneling and has little problem getting out. He did manage to lose a couple his "baby teeth" trying to grab the shovel while I was slinging snow.

Sled Ride

My daughter miss sled riding in the snow during winter. We used to do it at my Dad's side yard , you know something to do in the winter instead of just sitting inside the house and be bored to death. Here in the land of the morning calm, we don't have such fun. I mean they do have place where you can go snow board and ski but it's far from our place, so it's now worth dragging the kids in cold like especially here. When we showed this picture to Rylie, she remembered the sled that my father made when I was still a kid which my Mom kept in our basement garage.
