Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun

When we were still living in South Korea, I wanted to go to Japan with my husband when he attended school for his new job.  However, that desire did not materialize as we had to settle to the new house that we were assigned to live inside the base.  The only time I was able to set my foot in Japan was during our layover coming back here in the US.  It would have been nice to stay at The Ritz Carlton if we had a chance to visit the beautiful country for a vacation.  I believe that there are so many Filipinos living in Japan.  Some of the bloggers I know have shared beautiful pictures of their adventure.

If South Korea is the "land of the Morning Calm", Japan is the "Land of the Rising Sun".  It must be nice watching the rising sun from a balcony of the  Mitsui Garden Hotel Osaka Yodoyabashi. Oh boy, here I am again, dreaming of going to a place that I would really love to visit someday.  Who knows, I might get lucky and win an international ticket to Japan; that would be nice wouldn't it?

On the other note, we are planning to visit one of our family friends this coming summer.  They live in Texas and we can''t wait till the day we can get together once again just like what we did two years ago in Disney World.  Our children got along so well and they truly miss bonding with each other.  The only difference of what we did last time is that, this year we are going to their  state.  I can''t wait till winter is over.  The constant torture of our kids getting sick because of cold weather is just ridiculous.
I can''t wait for the spring to come and finally be able to go out without wearing the thick clothing.

Picture Keeper from Mailpix

Do  you  remember the photo canvas I posted previously?  Well, the same company that gave me that free photo canvas also gave me a photo backup device.

With all of these pictures on my hard drive I wanted to make sure that they were secure. I didn't want to loose all of my hard work and memories. If I don't back them up then I will run the risk of loosing everything. So because of that I have many copies of my pictures and went with a reliable company to help me back them up and I know would help me if I were to ever lose all my pictures.

Thanks to MailPix for sending me a complimentary sample of this picture backup device to  try, review, and keep.  This is exactly what I need as my hard drive is getting full of all the photos that I downloaded.  I also have an external drive but   I just don't have time to transfer all the photos there but one of these days, I would definitely  do that.

This device is very easy to use, all you have to do is to simply plug it and save the photos.  There  is no software to install which is  perfect for me as I am not good with technical stuff.  With a unique built-in software, that automatically finds and copies all your photos with a few clicks, Picture Keeper  makes it  easier  than ever to back up your entire photo collection.  This gadget found 21 thousand pictures in my hard drive but can only saved a thousand of them so I need to upgrade this PK4 to a PK Pro if I want to save all my  photos as it can store 62,500 for 12MP camera photos
MailpPix is  offering this picture device for free for any purchase that you make at their website.  Mailpix is a perfect place to  turning your  pictures into memories.  So check them out and enjoy their current deals on Smart Phones print sizes, walcouture photo art, and aluminum prints.  You can save to up to 50% off the original price.  Oh, they have a Penny Prints every Wednesday  offer which is a penny each photo print so check them out!

Picture Keeper is definitely the simplest automatic picture backup device there is.

Design with a Z

I received some pretty wall decals from Design with A Z to try and  review.  This design decals can be applied  on any smooth and not so smooth surface.  You  can put it on walls,  glass, metal, and wood.  You have to make sure that the surface is clean, free from dust and all so it would be free from any imperfection.
I put the horse at the entrance of our basement.  The wall has holes from previous display  so it is showing in the  picture.  The  decals came  inside this  round package  cardboard container.
I initially put the  butterflies at my daughter's dresser but she saw me put the hearts in our mirror at the hallway so she wanted hearts too.  Luckily, there were 8 of them so it was perfect for the  8 corners..
As you can see, there are some bubbles and wrinkles  on the photo below and that's because  I did not smooth-en that out yet.
You can use needle to poke the air out or you can use a squeegee just like the  the pink squeegee that they sent me.
Since my daughter changed her preference from butterflies to hearts, I removed the butterflies  from her dresser and put them together with the horse and sun.  I think i added  some bright colors to the black color of the horse.
Thank you so much Design with a Z for giving me the opportunity to try your products.  I had fun doing it.  I would like to work with you again if given a chance!

5 Easy Tea Leaves To Grow In Your Garden

Homeowners with a garden may choose to grow their own plants to make teas. These are called herbal teas and will be made from plants other than the traditional tea plant. Herbal teas are common as a drink during the cold months of the year to provide a boost to the immune system. There are 5 plants used for herbal teas you can easily grow in your garden.

Chamomile

This is an easy plant to grow in any garden and the flowers that are produced look similar to a daisy. A dried plant can be used to make a refreshing tea to have in the morning. Pick flowers from the plants at their peak to dry and keep stored to make tea to last during winter months. The plant grows up to about 18 inches and is great to plant alongside cabbage.

Basil

Teas made from this herb are popular in the West Indies and surrounding areas. The leaves and flowers of this plant can be made into a herbal tea. There are a variety Basil plants, such as Cinnamon Basil or Lemon Basil that can also be made into herbal tea. If you add honey to your tea, then a great drink can be made by adding a few cubes of ice.

Anise Hyssop

This plant produces purple-colored flowers that can be made into a herbal tea. The taste is sweet with a hint or licorice flavor and smell. You can grow this plant in the sun or even in shade. These plants grow to a height of 3 feet. Flowers bloom will cover the plant from July to September. Tea can be made from dried leaves and flowers in the summer or winter.

Hoary Mountain Mint

Do not confuse this plant with common peppermint. The appearance of this plant is a silvery white and has flowers that have a fragrance of piney mint. This plant is a perennial and will produce flowers from year to year. You can make fresh or brew tea from dried leaves and flowers. The plant grows to a height of 3 feet.

Lemon Balm

The Lemon Balm is actually a member of the mint family and is a fast grower. This plant grows up to a height of 2 feet and is a great option for ground cover in your garden. Herbal tea can be made by drying and grinding up the leaves and flowers. The result is a soothing tea with a strong scent of lemon.

Additional Information

Growing your own plants to make herbal tea offers many advantages. The plants will give your home a touch of beauty from the colors of the leaves and flowers. A walk in your garden will be enhanced by the fragrance of perfume coming from the plants. The maintenance of plants for your garden does not require a lot of effort. All you need to do is add mulch and water regularly. You will enjoy the return from the cost of seed by the amount of tea that can be made.

Environmental Drilling Solution

If you are a blogger and an avid participant to memes,  you will always  have an eye for things around you that  you can share for  different letters every Wednesday.  I spotted some of the  entrance (enter) and exit signs  in some of the establishments that we passed by last weekend.  Eye Center, Bob Evans, and Environmental Drilling Solutions are few of them that  I've seen and captured.

Performer

If you are a music performer, you always want to make sure that the stage lighting will highlight  the performance and won't interfere  with how you perform on the stage.    This is  crucial especially if you are  performing in a big  stage as the crowd wants to be able to see  their  idol and you want to make sure that you are giving what the fans wants, and that's to  see a glimpse of you!  I always think that musician has a very  easy  job but I think that it is more than that.  They do have so many things going on and so many things to consider when performing live on the stage.

Jigsaw Puzzles as Wall Decor

One of the many things that we enjoy doing as a family is  putting together   a jigsaw puzzles.  We have so many puzzles at home  and we invested   time on the big ones that I thought, why not put them in frames.  I finally hanged them  on our basement wall yesterday.

Below are the individual titles of each set.
1.  Playing with the Wind was completed on December 26.  It took us three days to complete this.  Not the entire 24 hour though, we only  work on these during our family times.

2.  Stone Ground Corn Mill was completed sometime last year.  I forgot to write it down.  I couldn't find a big frame for it so I used a cardboard box to mount the whole ting in.

3.  Family Sunset  was completed in March 4, 2012.  This one only took us 1 day to complete.

4.  Good Little Shepherds was completed on March 2, 2012.  It took us two days to complete this one.

My family love outdoor adventure so whenever it's  Winter, we  are bummed out.  We still try to go out and have fun with the snow but it's risky doing that as  the chance of having a cold and catching  a sickness is very high.  Right now, my daughter can't go to school because she caught and nasty bug.  She's been  sick for three days now and I feel so bad for her.

On the lighter note, I am  very happy and excited that I was given a chance to  work with Polar Bear.    The said  company has  different collection of Polar Bear Coolers (as shown in the photo below).  They are available in different sizes and colors.
