Indispensability of LED TV and Air Purifier in Daily Life

The modern high-tech civilization is experiencing its golden era of science and technology. The significant exponential growth in this sector has metamorphosed the lifestyle of the people. Technology has gifted a lot of useful gadgets to mankind. A few of the most vital appliances of present day include TVs, mobile phones, laptops, tablets, air-conditioners, air purifier and more. Ceaseless use of fossils fuels have not only added up to the atmospheric pollution but also their shortage in quantity in the earth's crust. This is why energy efficient and indispensable appliances like LED TV and air purifiers which help us to breathe in a pollution free environment, have become the need of the hour.

A LED (Light Emitting Diode) television uses about 35% of the electrical energy compared to its counter-parts viz. LCD TV and plasma TV which uses 50% and 80% of power respectively. LED display boards were generally used outdoors as store sign-boards, billboards, etc. But their energy efficient status has brought them to the drawing rooms of many people who are aware of a better tomorrow. The picture quality of a LED TV is far better than that of a plasma TV and even its nearest competitor LCD TV. We, no longer, have to go to theater to watch a 3D movie; instead enjoy 3D life like picture quality in our home just sitting in front of a LED TV. A general 42" full HD plasma TV emits 75.12kgCO2/year (approx.), a 42" full HD LCD TV emits 94.89kgCO2/year (approx.) and a 42" full HD LED TV emits only 46-56.14kgCO2/year; so these are even environment friendly. If a person can save hundreds of surplus dollars in electricity bill by just paying a little more by buying a LED TV, then that is regarded as a smart purchase.

With increasing global temperature and atmospheric pollution, it is becoming a lot more difficult for us to breathe in pure fresh air. So, air purifiers have become an essential appliance in our daily life as well. Air purifiers are instruments that extract contaminants from the air and make it bacteria free and hygienic to breathe. Dust, mold spores, pollen, dust mite feces, smoke, volatile organic compounds (VOC) may act as allergens, causing allergic problems and severe health problems in many sensitive people. Air purifiers reduce the percentage of the mentioned airborne contaminants and thus are useful for those suffering from breathing problems like asthma. Air purifiers involve several steps to make air contaminant free such as ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, filter, activated carbon, photocatalytic oxidation, ionizer purifiers, etc.

There are companies which offer a lot of energy efficient air purifiers which uses 550kWh/year (approximately) save about 230 kWh/year and benefit consumers by $25 on utility bills annually even if it is used continuously for optimum results. One major problem faced by air purifier users however, is that the noise produced by them can be disturbing at times. While devices as Blueair units are extremely silent, others can be noisy in most cases. Common noise level encountered in many air purifiers range from 33-45 decibels (db) while some may even go up to 55-70 db.

Harvey Norman Singapore offers a wide range of High Definition and Full HD LED TV & Smart TV brands, including Samsung, Sharp, Toshiba, Philips, LG, Hitachi and Sony. Harvey Norman Singapore also stocks a range of air purifiers designed to eliminate odours, airborne germs or allergens to improve the indoor air quality for the home or car. A selection of home humidifiers and dehumidifiers are also available to suit your health and comfort needs.
