Growing Your Own Vegetable

Did you ever wonder if the fruits and veggies you are eating are clean? I bet you always think that they are clean enough, but what if they're not? Find out which are these vegetables and fruits are loaded with pesticides..

It is best if we could grow our own garden so we are sure what we are getting from our produce. Gardening is one therapy for our body too, it helps us more relax by just spending time taking care of our plants.
Farmers have long used pesticides to prevent insects from ruining their crops. Although proper use of pesticides is approved by the U.S. government, one study estimated that as many as five million people are sickened every year due to pesticide poisonings. To skip the pesticides (but not the nutrition), purchase produce known to have lower levels of pesticides—or buy organic.

Oh my, I didnt know that bell peppers and celery are loaded with pesticides hon... It says that broccoli, Brussels sprouts, green peas, or romaine lettuce are the best replacement for Bpepper but I don't think brocolli is good enough because if you will thoroughly examine brocolli, they have worms most of the time...yaiks! With Celery, i think i'll go with carrots..

For the fruits, the filthiest are apples, peaches and nectarines.. Favorite ko pa naman ang apple hehehe..

Peeling fruits such as peaches or apples can greatly reduce the risk of ingesting potentially harmful chemicals. Even if you take off the rind, it’s still a good idea to wash the fruit, too, especially if you’re choosing one of these dirty fruits identified by the Environmental Working Group.

No surprises there. Here in Bulgaria we have none of that, but tie is ticking away for it to happens, especially as Bulgarians believe everything they hear and see on tevelvision, most coming form across the Atlantic.

The only answer is not shop and grow your own like we do...

You're absolutely right Martin, back in the States we always grow our own garden in our backyard, we seldom buy veggies in the store. The problem we have in our present location is the ground, we tried to plant veggies but it didn't grow well compared to the ones we had in WV..

thanks for the very nice ideas!
