The Benefits of Soy-Based Candles

While you may have seen them online or in stores, you may not be fully aware of the many benefits and uses associated with soy-based candles.  Soy candles, first and foremost, are an excellent alternative to paraffin candles; as paraffin candles may contain as many as eleven compounds that have been deemed carcinogenic, soy is a healthy alternative for the air quality of your home.  If you’ve never considered soy candles before, you’ll find that there are plenty of reasons to switch from your paraffin wax candles to soy!
Soy-Based Candles: A Non-Toxic Choice
Unlike paraffin candles that are made from petroleum-based wax, soy candles are non-toxic.  Moreover, paraffin candles often contain synthetic fragrance that may also be unhealthy to breathe and can even irritate people who suffer from allergies or conditions like asthma.  The wonderful thing about soy candles is that they are created from plant-based wax that will not add toxins to your air when you burn them.

Soy is Renewable and Affordable
Unlike petroleum-based products, soy is completely renewable and biodegradable.  Made from soybeans, soy candles aren’t just healthier for your home—they’re also better for the environment!  While beeswax is also a great natural alternative that was used during the Colonial period, it is not nearly as cost-effective as soy.  While both burn equally well, the soy-based candles are an incredibly economical choice.

Soy Candles Produce Less Soot and Smell Divine
All candles produce soot, but soy candles produce significantly less than paraffin candles; in fact, they produce so much less soot that some soy candle sellers have taken to calling their offerings “soot-free” as they burn so clean.  In addition to their reduced soot production, soy candles can be infused with all the fragrances you love; however, soy candles producers take great care to use natural fragrances to ensure that their candles remain the healthy alternative they’re designed to be.  You’ll find intoxicating soy candle fragrances like crème brulee, mango, fig, teak, lavender, apple, pear, and so many more to love!

If you enjoy candles but want to enhance the air quality of your home with a healthy alternative to paraffin wax, purchase soy candles for everyday use, for the holidays, and even as gifts for family and friends.  You won’t be disappointed with their burn quality and you’ll feel great about their non-toxic composition each time you take a breath in your home or office!

These candles add a great feeling to any building no matter what the occasion is. These also make for a great gift for any occasion. For someone who doesn't enjoy candles, it's important to note the benefits of soy candles and the pure elegance it can add to a home or office. Many people seem to forget that lighting a candle is just as easy as turning on a light. Save some energy in your home and turn on a candle at night. The smell and satisfaction of watching a soy candle burn gives a feeling of relaxation and warmth.

A soy-based candle is a great idea. I only know of wax-based one. I told my husband about this and his first question is, is it edible? hahaha

I've never used soy candles yet. I'll try to look for some when we go shopping next. We don't really use candles, paraffin or others, but I'm curious as to what soy candles really smell like.
