Planting Bulbs

(1) Miracle-GroI planted the tulip bulbs that I bought in the store  a couple of months ago.  I am not sure if it will  grow or not especially after  watching the  video on how to plant bulbs at Gardenieres website.  I followed  the direction  at the box of the bulbs but I found some great tips  on the video below  from Teena Spindler that I could have incorporated  and did  but it's too late now.  I just hope that I would  see  some growth  next spring, keeping my fingers crossed.  I did put some Miracle  Gro to the ground  before I put the  bulbs so let us see if it will help it.

Anyhow, if you want to  see some ideas and  tips from fellow gardeners, both pro and amateur, like the Miracle-Gro Facebook page and connect with  other green thumbs  worldwide.  I am sure that you will enjoy interacting with other gardeners  from the site.  Also, don't forget to check out the website I mentioned above as they have  videos available that talks about different  ideas about gardening.  You can watch one of them below.  Share your ideas and then gain some  for a greener and beautiful  garden!

No Good in Bed

My yellow rose is still blooming till now.  I keep cutting it and  putting it in my flower vase inside.
I find this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt  very funny.
"I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall. "

Ordinary to Extra Ordinary

Online applications can turn ordinary photos into extra ordinary.
I miss you, little sissy!

The Right Gift for the Oddball in the Family

There is always the one odd sheep out of the flock – and that is the one we always seem to have a problem finding the right Christmas gift for. This is the “odd duck,” the person who has everything, or likes the unusual gift. This is the person you really need to spend some time thinking about.

When it comes to Christmas gift giving, you want to find something unusual like a special kind of memorabilia like a movie related item or even interesting clothing garment with a fun slogan or saying. Finding the right gift for this special person is not all that hard, you just have to put yourself in their shoes and figure out what this person would think of as being cool, fun and interesting.

The Non-Typical Gadget
Just because your friend or family member appears to have everything he could ever want, doesn’t mean he can’t appreciate an unusual gadget or two. Give him something interesting like the Blabber Meter clock that shows how much money its’ costing your friend to listen to other people’s mindless chatter. If this isn’t your style then maybe you’ll consider a scrolling led light belt buckle or the high tech MP3 sunglasses for your high-tech loving friend.

The Clean Gift
You can always opt for natural soaps, spa creams, moisturizers and scrubs. These always make an acceptable gift, but you can make it even more interesting by adding the natural deodorant stone or the cool De Odor Works product (a stainless steel hourglass-shaped metal that works as a deodorant when used with water). This could be a cool gift, providing your friend or family member doesn’t feel offended by it.

Film and T.V. Memorabilia
This also makes a great gift, especially for the film or T.V. buff. Think of movie posters, signed movie scripts or even fun T-shirts. You might consider something like one of the great Doctor Who Tees, if your friend or family member is a part of the unique Dr. Who T.V. show fan. Dr Who, a famous BBC program first aired in 1963 and later made into a 1996 T.V. film.

Bottom Line
There are actually many appropriate gifts for the person that has it all. But finding the right one requires just a little thought, online research and planning. Often, the right gift for this person won’t come from a regular department store, but instead, from an online boutique or specialty store.

Oversize Pumpkin

Just some of the interesting and spooky displays  at the farm we visited.

I find old stuff very interesting specially old farm equipment.
Okay, look at the kid on the side and look at the size of the pumpkin... oversize!
Have a great week ahead everyone!

Spider Display

I took a quick snap of this grandpa and grandson tandem who were buying snack at a pop corn station at the farm we recently visit.
The big spider display and the hat of the guy makes a perfect combo!

Bourne Ultimatum

As I was writing this post, the Bourne Ultimatum movie is in my mind lol.  My pumpkin and  the movie is not related at all but I gave this pumpkin plant an ultimatum that if  she doesn't bear fruit, I would pull her out.
A week after I told her that, I saw these two fruits!
Yeah I know, it's weird that I talk to my plants but I just got frustrated that I plant pumpkin every year but I never got any fruit,  so this year, I  pulled a strategy and that's to give her ultimatum lol.
Have you ever talked to a plant before?  I know, it's "NUTTY" but it works!  I do that all the time with my  flowering plants.

Halloween Candies

The  costumes that I bought for my children has arrived the other day and they can not wait to put them on  on Halloween day.  We will be doing trick or treating  at our neighborhood because our neighbor wants to see the kids in costume and they want to give them some treats and halloween candy .  They told us that  we should let the kids trick or treat our  neighborhood  because they miss the kids.  For the  past years, we always go to my father-in-law's  place and do our trick or treating there but this year, we will do it here first then go to Dad's later on.

Skull Lollipops 17ct Halloween Candy
Photo isn't mine
Talking about Halloween candies,  check out the selection  at Blair Candy website.  They have these spooky looking kinds of candies that would be fun to hand out  to kids during Halloween day.  I bet the kids would be thrilled to get  one of these  skull shaped pops  that I saw at Blair Candy.  There are so many  tricky treats that you can buy from that online store that would surely give delight to the faces of the treaters at your  porch  on the Halloween day.  Check out the site by visiting the link I have provided in this post.

Mums

My mums are in full bloom now, I only have one color and  plant to get  yellow and orange  next time.
Have a good day!

Smiley Pumpkin

We picked the two pumpkins that we have in the backyard  yesterday.   The Burritos decided to  put a smiley face on the yellow one's bottom.  I put the green one in a  Fall wreath.
We also bought three pumpkins during our   visit at Janoski's Farm last weekend.
We put it in front of our  porch  with  some hay that we   bought from the store.
There you go, our simple  decor from mother Nature.  Wishing you all a great week ahead!

Winding Roads on a Country Side

We drove in the country side a couple of weeks ago to look at the house that was for sale in the middle of nowhere. Hubby and I love where the house was located but the winding roads made me and my daughter sick (car sicked). I took some shots though.
It's nice to go for a drive sometimes especially now that the Autumn has begun.  The leaves are starting to change and it's heavenly to see.

How to Have an Exotic Florida Beach Wedding

Beach weddings have gained wide popularity among couples excited to make the most special day of their lives a grand event to be remembered for life.  Florida weddings are also a famous way to say ‘I do’ in the natural and the most romantic way. Whether, you have your heart set on beach ceremony or simply want to have a wedding that is grand yet magical, no doubt beach wedding in Florida is an ideal option to be considered.

With the right amount of planning and organization, a couple dreaming of a Florida beach wedding can make it beautifully fitting into the budget. A beach wedding can be either spiritual or contemporary depending on your choice but when it comes to budget, it can be a bit expensive to your pocket when compared to a regular wedding idea. Here are a few important tips to apply when planning a perfect beach wedding:

  • Many claim that Florida weddings are affordable and might cost you much lesser than the traditional weddings as the focus is primarily on the bridal couple not the hotel or dinner. People enjoy more a beach wedding when compared to other weddings but one thing that should be paid attention to is the decoration.
  • Decoration grabs away the attention of everyone. So, make sure that your wedding decorations at the beach set up are designed with flowers as this will create a pure and beautiful ambiance at the beach.
  • The beach is casual, spacious and welcoming but have you ever thought of what will be your wedding attire at the catchy yet captivating beach location. Your wedding attire should be purely stunning so that the spacious beach doesn't take away all the attention of the guests.
  • Spend one night at the beach to live those exotic and romantic moments forever in your heart. Make sure that the area you are looking for as the beach wedding in Florida isn't reserved.

House Address Plaques

When we first  moved in to this house that we bought 6 years ago,  the mailbox that  the former  owner had has seen better days.   We replaced it with a modern  looking mailbox that we found online.  When I was looking for  the mailbox selection, I also  found different kinds of address plaques  and  house signs.  Mailbox and Beyond has so many selection of mailboxes and posts, personalized cracks, doorbell, outdoor faucets and more.

Rose Oval Address Plaque
I like their house address plaques selection, the rose oval address plaque stood out for me. I love the design and the price is very affordable and it's perfect  for  us as it has roses! They also carries address signs  that are unique in design and would look beautifully to anyone's home.  MY husband like this Nautical them with an anchor arch design.

Religious Signs

Just one of the signs that I captured when we went to Chester a couple of months ago.  Pardon for the not-so-clear windshield of our car.

Making the most of this year's Cruise Sale

Cruise holidays are a fantastic travel option for families, couples, groups of friends and individuals with a zest for life. There are a good number of quality tour providers offering excellent packages to suit the needs of anyone with their eye on a great way to see the world and relax in a fun-filled environment. Tour itineraries include many of the most popular and impressive coastlines in the world and some of the leading tourist hot spots from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean and almost everywhere in between and beyond.

The really good news though is that even the best sea-bound holidays form part of the cruise sale that's going on right now. So you can line up an amazing vacation for a fraction of the cost you might've been expecting to pay, at least if you're savvy enough about your research and you snap up the bargains that become available.

It has never been easier to investigate and ultimately book a cruise holiday and the latest websites effectively guide you through the process once you know exactly which trip or which particular package is right for you. The key issues of course will revolve around how many people are likely to be in your party, how long you might want to travel for and where in the world you'd most like to visit. In the cruise sale season though you can really afford to let your imagination run wild and think seriously about finding that holiday of a lifetime you've been longing for.

Always high on the list of dream destinations for many of us is the Caribbean and some of the superb beaches and sun-drenched towns that the islands there can offer. There really aren't many more exotic places in the world and you will be glad to know that there are still plenty of cut-price Caribbean cruise deals being offered online right now.

Pillow Cases

Lola Ruth gave Ms. Burrito a pair of pillow cases with crocheted design at the end.  I love the lavender color.
