Just Capture It

Just some of the  things that captured my  attention during our  walk in the woods.  When you see beautiful things in the nature, just capture them.

Digital Life

I got a pretty god offer for photo prints so I ordered a bunch of them. I have tons of photos to be printed but I just choose some of them. I also got some free photo album from a network where I am an active member for almost a year now. I still need a couple of albums for the remaining of the photos but I am glad that I got some of it for free.  I am thinking of   turning these photos to cd so I could send it to my  family back home.  It's been years since we last visited  and it still uncertain to when we could visit them again.  It would be nice if my Mom and siblings could see how my kids have grown already.

I found a website where you can scan your photos digitally.  Scan Digital offers this kind of services which makes it easier for a  photo fanatic like me to find a solution that would  give me  an easy choice on how I could update my family about us.  Aside from photo scanning, they also provide services like  converting your film to DVD and video to DVD.  I am wondering if they could recover a  DVD that has been damaged?  I want to salvage our wedding video that has been damaged when I brought it from the Philippines to here. It would be nice if I could have it like it is new.  I have to find  out about this one.

In the Window

My daughter and I did a little  decorating at our kitchen window.  Most of this are just small projects that we did at home.  Pardon for the not-so-clear window, it was raining when I took the photos.  I admire people that has ingenuity in them because they can invent things  and make it work but since I don't have that trait, all I could do is improvise and use things that I have.
Dried rose that Mr. Burrito picked from the garden and was given to me.  He also found this  little bottle in the woods so I filled it with colorful sand.
The  flowers that me and Ms. Burrito made out of  candy  wrappers.
I bought this one in Korea.  They have a 1,000 won store, the korean version of a dollar store.
To complete the  look, we  hanged the pot holders that she made  especially for me.

Wild Berries

These wild berries that were hanging at my sister-in-law's   fence  grabbed my attention.  I love their  pink vine and it is just so beautiful to look at against the luscious green  and  black color of the fruits.

In the Navy

My husband's old time buddy from the navy has contacted him recently. hey have been emailing each other constantly and updating each other with what is going on with families since retirement. His friend said that he retired in the Philippines but is now planning to go back here in the States. I think that both of them misses being in the service.

I can still remember when my husband was in his last years in the Navy, he couldn't wait to retire.    But I know that  he misses being in the Navy because he talks about it all the time.  It was a bit stressful   when he  just retired because he got used to  a very busy schedule when he was in but  when he retired, it was a big adjustment.  Now that he is working again as a civilian, he's adjusting quite well.

White and Red Hibscus

My white and red hibiscus are now in full bloom.  I have different colors of hibiscus actually but this one is my favorite.
The lavender I planted is growing so slow.  I wonder when is this going to bloom.  The cosmos and sun flower seem to grow so healthy this year.

Stylish Ziploc

One of our neighbor love having the kids for a movie nieght. She has two daughters and whenever they are off from school, they always invite the kids for a movie night at their house where they play, watch movies, and do some crafts.  During their recent movie night, the girls introduced Ms. Burrito in making plain ziploc  to stylish one.  Thanks to the Howells' family for always making my kids part of their family.

Crepe Myrtle

Our neighbor dug out their pine tree beside their house because it was causing a leak inside the house every time it rains.
That's one main reason why  hubby and I decided to  removed all the bushes  that were planted beside   our house when we bought it.
Hubby helped them  in removing it.
This crepe myrtle is just so love.
It's been raining here for the past three days but it's a good opportunity to photograph the plant like this hosta.

Blue Sky at Madonna High

I took this shot a couple of weeks ago when we were teaching our kids to ride their bikes without the training wheels. I love the blue sky  by Madonna High.

Friendship and Flowers

Here are some flowers in my garden.
"But friendship is the breathing rose, with sweets in every fold."
-Oliver Wendell Holmes-
"Every flower is a soul blossoming in nature."
-Gerard De Nerval-
"Bee to the blossom, moth to the flame; Each to his passion; what's in a name?"
-Helen Hunt Jackson-
"A Cockscomb is a plant (Celosia cristata), of many varieties, cultivated for its broad, fantastic spikes of brilliant flowers; -- sometimes called garden cockscomb. Also the Pedicularis, or lousewort, the Rhinanthus Crista-galli, and the Onobrychis Crista-galli." .. source of info - brainyquote.com

rather it is one of those things that give value to survival."
