Flamingo?

Okay folks, you be the judge on what kind of birds are these as I am not good in naming them.
These were taken in Animal Kingdom during our Kilamanjaro Safari  tour.
THere were just so many of them and it's beautiful to see  them fly around.
So do you think these beauties are flamingos?

I am a big bird enthusiast so you can imagine how thrilled I am to see these wonderful pictures. They look like flamingoes but I am not sure. Some years ago I got a figurine of a flamingo and it was pink. I just wrote a post featuring pictures of birds and now I have seen these pictures. They have certainly brightened my afternoon! Take care and all the best to you.

Glad it brighten your day Judy. I couldn't really tell if they are flamingos as we were so far plus the fat that we were moving when I took these photos.

The big ones with the long necks and pink legs are flamingos. There are some other birds in the first photo, so that might be what confused you. Also, flamingos can have bright pink feathers or light pink or even white feathers, depending upon the amount of shrimp they eat. These ones are obviously not eating a lot of shrimp. I'm sure they're perfectly healthy, but they're just not perfectly pink!

I saw my first flamingo at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney and they are provided with big mirrors when water is not fully available for them to see themselves. They are the most vain in birds. Those pink legs are so beautiful.
