You won't believe what our four year old daughter asked me the other day. We were having a dad and daughter conversation when suddenly she said "Hey Daddy, can you please buy me the thing that Shelby has?" I didn't realize at first what she was referring to so I asked her what was this thing that Shelby has? After she described it, I realized that she was referring to her niece's Ipod Touch.

My initial reaction was like "Holy cow!" I never expected a request like that from her, especially at such a young age. She is a little less mindful of things, such as the price, of this type of item than her dear old dad. I really pride my little girl on being so advanced for her age but I shy away from giving such an expensive and delicate electronic item to such a young child.

Children these days are very technologically savvy. She is only four years old and can use the thing more efficiently that me. She was navigating games and watching videos without any assistance. She really enjoyed the time spent learning how to use this marvel of technology and now she expects me to purchase one for her. All it took was one time and she was hooked.
